Also, kudos to Sara on her selection as the recipient of the 2015 WORMS (Women in Operations Research and the Management Sciences) Travel Award, which will cover her colloquium and conference registrations. Only one such award was given this year.

The Center Director Professor Anna Nagurney and Center Associates mourn the tragic death of the INFORMS Fellow and Nobel laureate in Economic Sciences John F. Nash and his wife on May 23, 2015. The Center Director has written a tribute in his memory on her blog, since his contributions to noncooperative game theory and the Nash equilibrium have inspired many of her research papers.

Congratulations are in order -- Center Associate Professor Amir H. Masoumi will receive the Judith B. Liebman Award from INFORMS at the Annual INFORMS Conference in Minneapolis in October, 2013. Amir is being recognized for his work with the UMass Amherst INFORMS Student Chapter while he was a doctoral student at the Isenberg School of Management. He is the third Center Associate to receive this national award -- the others are Professor Tina Wakolbinger and Professor Patrick Qiang. These recipients were all nominated by Professor Anna Nagurney.

Also, the UMass Amherst INFORMS Student Chapter has been notified by INFORMS that it will be receiving its 7th national award from INFORMS for its activities, also at the Minneapolis meeting. Specifically, it will be recognized with the Magna Cum Laude Award. Professor Anna Nagurney has been the Faculty Advisor of this chapter since 2004.

Professor Anna Nagurney was informed in a letter from Dr. Anne G. Robinson, President of INFORMS, that she was one of twelve INFORMS Fellows elected this year.

According to the INFORMS website: INFORMS Fellows are examples of outstanding lifetime achievement in operations research and the management sciences. They have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments and made significant contributions to the advancement of OR/MS over a period of time. Their service to the profession and to INFORMS has culminated in election to the INFORMS Fellow Award.

Professor Nagurney is deeply honored and humbled by her election to INFORMS Fellow.

The evaluation cited many of the activities and accomplishments of the Center and its Associates as reasons for the continuation. Professor Nagurney thanks the Center Associates and visitors to the site for their support.

Center Associate Professor Ladimer S. Nagurney has been informed that the Board of Directors of the Radio Club of America has elevated him to a Fellow of the Radio Club of America. He will receive his certificate at the Club's 103rd Annual Banquet at the New York Athletic Club in New York City in November 2012. The Radio Club of America is the oldest association of professionals in the radio and wireless telecommunications industries. Founded in 1909, The Radio Club of America has counted among its Fellows the very best in the radio communications industry such as Edwin Armstrong, David Sarnoff, Louis Hazeltine, John V. L. Hogan, Paul Godley and Allen B. DuMont.

Yesterday, Center Doctoral Student Associate Min Yu successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, Analysis, Design, and Management of Supply Chain Networks with Application to Time-Sensitive Products, at the Isenberg School of Management. Her committee consisted of Professor Anna Nagurney, Chair, and Professors June Dong, Mila Getmansky Sherman, and Christian Rojas. Min will be an Assistant Professor at the Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland in Oregon beginning in the Fall of 2012. She will also be a Pamplin Fellow there.
