Biography: Previously he was President of the Sciens Fund of Hedge Funds Management in London, UK. From 2008 until 2011, he was the Vice President of the Piraeus Bank in Athens, Greece. Before that, he was Managing Director and Head of European Alternative Execution Sales at Citigroup's London global portfolio trading strategies group, specializing in financial optimization analysis. He headed the global portfolio trading strategies team (part of the global program trading team), which specializes in pre-trade portfolio analytics and portfolio trading strategies. Dr. Siokos joined
Citigroup (then
Salomon Brothers) in 1997 as a quantitative analyst and holds a Ph.D.
in
operations research from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, an
M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of
Massachusetts
and a diploma in electrical engineering from the University of Patras,
Greece. He is the author of several books and has also written numerous
articles. He has been top ranked in most of the major European
surveys
in the quantitative services sector over the last six years.
He was co-organizer of the conference, Computing in Economics and Finance,
June 2006 in Limassol, Cyprus. On
November
29-30, 2006, Dr. Siokos visited the University of Massachusetts at
Amherst and gave a Distinguished
Alum Seminar at the Isenberg School of Management. He was hosted
by the Virtual Center for Supernetworks and the UMass Amherst
INFORMS Student Chapter. Presentation In September 28, 2007,
he gave a presentation, co-hosted by the Finance Seminar Series, in the
UMass Amherst INFORMS Speaker Series. Presentation He is a frequent invited speaker on international finance.
