Biography:
Sarvagya Jha is a Ph.D. student in Operations Management at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he works under the supervision of Professor Anna Nagurney in the Virtual Center for Supernetworks. He received his M.S. in Quantitative Finance from Rutgers Business School, Newark, New Jersey, in 2024, and his B.Sc. with Honors in Physics and Mathematics from the Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai, India. His doctoral coursework spans linear and integer programming, stochastic models, multicriteria decision making, mathematical statistics, humanitarian logistics and health care, and social network analysis. He has also served as a Program Manager with the Rural Organization for Social Establishment in Jharkhand, India, where he led a bonded-labour rescue and education program and introduced a mobile medical facility serving roughly 5,000 people across the Palamu and Latehar districts. He has passed Part I of the FRM examination and has been a member of the UMass Amherst INFORMS Student Chapter since 2025. His research interests include: operations research and management science, network modeling and network optimization, stochastic optimization, integer and multicriteria programming, supply chain networks and logistics, humanitarian logistics and health care operations, financial networks, risk management, and quantitative finance.
